


Established in 2009, Summerfields Foods had been in the making for several years before that. Karl and Fiona Summerfield both have a real interest in cooking. After some travel and discovering a new world of food, it became apparent that it was hard to track down the ingredients once back in Christchurch. You had to substitute something else, or drive all over the city visiting shop after shop to find what you need. Karl and Fiona often joked to their friends that someone should open a shop and just have everything in one place. After a while their friends started to say "Well, why don't you guys do it?". After a lot of stress and hard work, Summerfields Foods became a reality.
